The K.I.D.S. Place – Non-Profit Savings
The Challenge
The customer was looking to lower overhead costs for their early childhood learning center so that they could afford to expand their services. The KIDS Place services include an autism intervention system, offering services to children on the ASD spectrum throughout rural areas of Kansas where families struggle to find such specialized care. The KIDS Place partners with many state and federal programs to make services available to families, striving to make services accessible to all families with children with autism.
Reducing overhead costs with solar was a way to divert electric bills into additional monthly funds. The Sunderland Foundation and the FreeState Electric Cooperative both provided funding for the solar project, allowing the KIDS Place to save an average of $500 per month on operating expenses.
The Solution
SunSource Homes designed a system that is projected to offset 101% of their energy needs.
